MUSICIANS WHO DOUBLE AS AMAZING ACTORS.


Ain't it always fun to see a movie where your favorite artists take on movie roles outside their celebrity lifestyle and give life to characters off a script? Yeah right. But in the same vain, some take on the roles better than others and it might be the work of artistic directors or personal coaches, but it doesn't matter if a good performance was delivered.
Here's a handpicked list of some who fit the bill.


1. Chris Brown: Chris has got to be one of the most versatile on this list. His initial roles on screen were quite passive and minor, but he did alot to include the element of drama and theatrics in his videos before he started getting major screen roles in movies.

Movies featured: Takers, battle of the world, stomp the yard, this Christmas and think like a man.


2. Justin Timberlake: Justin is like the white Chris Brown (artistically speaking). He's actually more involved in movies than Chris and juggle both quite well. He's had good rated movies in comedy action, romance and crime.

 Movies featured: Friends with benefits, In time, runner runner, Black snake moan, the open road, Edison force and model behavior.


3. Beyonce: She's one of those acts who bares her facial expressive switch to a maximum in her videos too. Her line up of screen appearances are not much but they are enough to cement and prove her prowess in the craft of make believe.

 Movies featured: Obsession, Cadillac records,dream girls, Austin powers, fighting temptation and Hip hopera.


4. Lady Gaga: Lady gaga had her first appearance on 'American horror story'. The title says quite much about the content of film. She gave a remarkable interpretation for a first timer.

Movies featured: Dreading deepak, American horror story and sin city.



5. 50 Cent: Even though he extends his involvement in movies into producing, he has refused to go soft on the roles. They hover around the world of crime from both the angle of a perpetrator or justice server.

Movies featured: Ger rich or die trying, All things fall apart, Freelancers, Setup, southpaw, escape plan, home of the brave, streets of blood, caught in the crossfire, blood out and Gun.

6. Rihanna: Riri's choice of roles on screen are quite different from others on the list. For the fact that her roles erodes every element of her known personality or life.

7. T.I: He's the villain in takers. His corny sleek attitude always rubs off on every character, but his delivery is always spot on and memorable. Taking him out his comfort zone into the era of aggressive racism and heightened slavery running around in roots, just verified his craft ability in acting.

8. Ludacris: Luda got hooked on one of the most successful movie franchises in the game right now, even with the flip and changes of some characters from the beginning. He's been retained as a major cast member on the Fast and Furious franchise playing Tej and it has turbo charged his acting relevance in hollywood.

Movies featured:  Crash, fast and furious, hustle and flow, show dogs, Max Payne and the gamer.




9. Idris Elba: Driis as his stage name, cuts through his rapper and Dj persona. He has played major gigs and featured on chart topping songs with Macklemore and a few more.

Movies featured: Thor, Bastille day, obsessed, Daddy's girls, this Christmas, beast of no nation.




10. Ice Cube: Some said movies or fatherhood softened him up, from the angle of his origin musically and environmentally. His major roles are mostly comedy features.

Movies featured:  Are we there yet, 21 jump street, ride along, barbershop, fist fight, friday, boyz n the hood, friday after next, XXX state of the union, all about the Benjamins, first sunday, torque, beauty shop, dangerous ground and the glass shield.



11. Will Smith: Many of our generation kids only know Will the actor and his recent playful remakes of Jaden's music who is an actor/ Musician too. But Will's exploits in music got him maximum buzz for a hip hop earned him a grammy.

Movies featured: Ali, MIB, Hancock, Focus, Wild wild west, Concussion, bad boys, iRobot, independence day.


12. Jamie Foxx: Jamie takes a special space in this list of multi talented. Jamie foxx is undoubtedly one of the best vocalists in Hollywood and he has never held back on showing off his gift on movies like Ray, and Tv appearances.

Movies featured: Ray, amazing spiderman, Annie, the kingdom, sleepless, baby driver, Django unchained, horrible bosses, collateral damage, white house down, Robin hood, soloist, dreamgirl, miami vice and breaking all rules.
