The prospects for business investment in Africa

In 2016, Africa attracted US$1 trillion in FDI, representing a growth of 7.4%. This investment is expected to grow exponentially in the coming years, as the African continent continues to experience strong economic growth and consistent reform progress.

For companies looking to tap into the African market, there are a number of opportunities to be had. The continent has a burgeoning consumer market that is growing rapidly and is expected to reach US$2.5 trillion by 2025. 

Additionally, African companies are becoming increasingly innovative and globalised, which is opening up new market opportunities.

There are also a number of prospects on the continent for companies in the technology and infrastructure sectors. For example, there is a growing demand for telecommunications and energy infrastructure, as well as digital content and services.

There are a number of businesses that are already benefiting from the growth in Africa, including technology and mobile companies, food and beverage companies, and banking and financial services providers. There are also a number of opportunities for businesses in the continent that are yet to be tapped. 

As the African economy continues to grow, so too will the opportunities available for businesses looking to invest in the continent
